Someone at this table is lying.
Mafia is a social deduction game for 6–11 players, right in your browser. Get a secret role, argue with your friends, vote someone out — or get fooled trying.
Start To Finish
How a game unfolds
One game is a loop of nights and days. Here is the full journey — explore what happens inside each phase.
1.Gather your crew
The host creates a room and shares the invite link or room code. Everyone joins from their browser — no installs, just audio, video, and suspicion.
2.Roles are dealt in secret
Each player is assigned a hidden role: most are Town, a few are Mafia. Look at your own role and tell no one. The Mafia learn who each other are — the Town knows nothing.
3.Night falls — roles act
When night comes, each role with a night ability acts in secret: the Mafia pick a target, the Detective investigates a suspect, the Doctor protects someone. See the phases page for who does what.
4.Morning — the reveal
Everyone wakes up to the news: someone may have been eliminated overnight — unless the Doctor made a save. The eliminated player's role is revealed.
5.Discuss and accuse
The living debate. Who acted suspiciously? Who is deflecting? Town players share what they know (carefully), and Mafia players blend in, sow doubt, and push suspicion onto innocents.
6.Vote to eliminate
Everyone casts a vote. The player with the most votes is eliminated and their role is revealed. Then night falls again — repeat until one side wins.
7.A side claims victory
Town wins by eliminating every Mafia member. Mafia wins once they match the Town in numbers and control the vote. See the win conditions below.

Fair questions
How many players do we need?
Six to eleven. Roles are dealt to fit your table, so a small group and a full house both get a proper game.
Do I need an account?
Yes — everyone signs up first. Then one person creates a room and the rest join with the invite link or room code.
How do my friends join?
Send them your invite link or room code. They join from their browser, and the host lets them in. No installs, no downloads.
Do I need a camera or microphone?
They run right in the browser, and you can toggle either before joining. Mafia is a talking game though — mic on is strongly advised.
What happens when I get eliminated?
You stay and watch. The fallen gather in the graveyard strip while the living keep arguing — perfect for backseat suspecting.
How long does a game take?
Rounds of night, day, and voting repeat until one side wins. Most games wrap up in minutes, not hours.
